First hosted by Tokyo, Japan in 2012, Asia Open is an open championships based on International Cheer Union (recognised world governing body for Cheer) rules and scoring system. Singapore is honoured to host Asia Open for the first time and we hope to bring a brand new exciting and cultural-immersive experience for all participants. Singapore welcomes you!

This is a preliminary schedule and is subject to changes. Teams are advised to keep the weekend available in case of schedule changes.

Asia Open is held in conjunction with Cheerleading Association (Singapore) National Cheerleading Championships “CASNCC”.

Pre-Competition

Day 1: Thursday, 3rd September

ARRIVAL OF INTERNATIONAL TEAMS

asia-open-cheerleading-championships-singapore-jewel-changi-airport International teams to arrive in Singapore at Changi Airport. Highly recommended: Explore the wondrous world of nature meets retail and entertainment at Jewel Changi Airport which is accessible from all terminals.

Check in to the official hotel and squeeze in some sightseeing and shopping.

Day 2: Friday, 4th September

REHEARSALS

Day 3: Saturday, 5th September

COMPETITION DAY 1

Competing Divisions:

All Performance Cheer Divisions
(Freestyle Pom, Hip Hop, Jazz)
Cheer divisions of the following levels: Beginner, Novice, Intermediate, and Median.

~~Cheer Cultural party after the awards ceremony!~~ Due to COVID-19 social distancing measures, the Cheer Cultural Party will be cancelled.

Day 4: Sunday, 6th September

Competition Day 2

All Advanced, Elite, and Premier Cheer Divisions will be competing on day 2.

Post-Competition

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, please exercise judgment on the post-competition activities.

Day 5: Monday, 7th September

SINGAPORE TOUR

Be a tourist! Visit Universal Studios Singapore or take a full day tour at River Safari + Night Safari. Fancy an island adventure? Visit Sentosa! Indulge in culinary adventures in Singapore’s melting pot of culture. Make sure you try Singapore’s top ten must-eat!

Day 6: Tuesday, 8th September

City Tour + CheerBuddy

Take a city tour and get a “CHEERFIE” at our must-visit insta-worthy spot at Merlion Park and Marina Bay Sands. Immerse in art culture at the Esplanade or get nature loving at Gardens by the Bay.

~~Join our CheerBuddy program where we match your team to a local team for an exchange workshop. Make some new friends and bond over cheer~~! Due tothe COVID-19 social distancing measures, the CheerBuddy program is cancelled.

Day 7: Wednesday, 8th April

Depart for Home

It’s home sweet home! Unless you want to stay for another day or two – Singapore’s got a lot more to offer!

World Standard

Athletes get to showcase their skills on a world stage and receive feedback based on world standard rules and judging procedures with a professional international panel of judges.

Exposure

Through the international stage, athletes get to see and experience different techniques and performance styles from around the world, helping them to broaden their skills and grow as an athlete.

Global Village

Participants get to share the their culture with athletes from other cultures and connect with them and create lifelong friendships through the cultural exchange party and CheerBuddy programme!

Live Webcast

Parents, friends and supporters can't support you live at the event? No worries, we have live webcast so everyone back home gets involved in the experience. Nobody gets left behind!

Commemorative Pack

Athletes will receive a commemorative pack containing exclusive event merchandise which includes t-shirt, lapel pin, and keychain, and sponsors' gifts.

Professional Photos and Videos

Each coach and athlete will receive professional photos of their routine. Videos of the team routine will be uploaded to media platforms such as YouTube and Facebook.

Certificate of Achievement

Regardless of placement, participants and coaches will receive a downloadable digital Certificate of Achievement downloadable from the registration system.

Awards and Grand Champion

Top 3 placing teams in each division will receive a team trophy and individual medal. Grand Champion trophy will be awarded to the top scoring team of each level/category.

Safe for All

Singapore is well-known for our low crime rate so you can be assured that teams travelling with young athletes will have a lot less to worry about.

Awesome Venue

The competition will be held in a fully air-conditioned auditorium located at a community and lifestyle hub with plenty of entertainment, food and shopping options!

Chaperones

We know how hard it can be to manage teams with minors, so we introduced chaperones you can appoint to access restricted athletes-only areas to take care of the athletes.

Online Registration

Registration can't get any easier. Register, make payment, and submit your waivers online. Key in athletes information one time and you never have to do it again!

Divisions

Our extensive menu of divisions provide for all athletes of all ages, levels and categories, and team sizes. There's something for everyone!

Crossovers

We have a flexible policy for athletes crossovers to maximise your competition experience. You can even crossover with one routine (perform only once).

Live Scoring

No more struggling with paper and results tabulation. Our judges will be keying in your team's scores and comments online, which you can access at the end of the day.

Legality

We offer legality support before and during the competition through legality enquiry and infraction review system to help your team achieve zero infractions!

Mini Competitions

Are you flexible, or an excellent tumbler or jumper? Perhaps you want to challenge the highest toss or best fouette? Join our mini competitions at no extra charges.

Celebrations!

Party to live deejay, exchange gifts and souvenirs and enjoy the various entertainment activities at the Cheer Cultural party happening after the awards ceremony!

CheerBuddy

Our CheerBuddy programme links your team up with a local team for a workshop hosted by the team. Make new friends and exchange techniques through the workshop.

Check out our insta-worthy tourist spots for a "cheerfie" and have a gastronomic adventure. Get some action at our theme parks and resort island. Fun fun times!
